Registration Rules

The Irish Draught Horse Society of Canada registers and recognizes purebred and partbred Irish Draught horses through a three-step process: Registration, Selection & Recognition of Performance

Inspection Rules

Irish Draught mares and stallions will be inspected in accordance with the harmonized studbook requirements as described in the following rules and the IDHSC registration rules. Irish Draught Sport Horse mares will be inspected in accordance with IDHSC registration rules and the following rules. Owners of eligible Irish Draught Sport Horse stallions have the option to be inspected for approval within the Canadian studbook only (no xrays required) or for Preliminary Approval in the Irish Horse Register (xrays required).

Membership

Membership to the IDHS (Canada) is open to all individuals who are interested in Irish Draught and Irish Draught Sport Horses.
Memberships run from January 1st to Dec 31st. Any memberships paid in the last month of a Calendar year are carried over to the next calendar year.
Voting privilege's are only extended to residents of Canada.

Registration

Registration is open to all horses with at least 1/8th provable 
Irish Draught blood.

Cross Registration

Registered and Cross-Registered horses are eligible for inspection/approval in Canada.
Registered and Cross-Registered horses are eligible for IDHSC programs including: Inclusion in the Irish Horse Register and Promotion on the IDHSC website and materials

Transfer of Ownership

SELLER  completes  TWO  copies  of this  form.  SELLER  keeps  one  copy  and gives the other  copy  to  the BUYER.  SELLER  mails or  emails a

copy  with  the $25  fee  to  the REGISTRATION  OFFICE
