This page is for registering PARTBRED unregistered Irish Draught horses only.

Provide the registration office with sire and dam DNA report if not already on file.

Gather digital copies of stallion certificate, dam's registration, and horse's digital photos in application form

Step 1: Annual membership purchased
To access our registration services you must be a member of the Irish Draught Horse Society of Canada.
Step 2: Gather sire and dam registration details, and DNA analysis reports
Sire and/or dam must contribute enough Irish Draught DNA for your horse to be a minimum 1/8th Irish Draught to fill in this application.
If the Irish Draught parentage can not be verified the IDHSC registry can't register your horse.
Click here to look-up whether the sire and/or dam's DNA is in the registry's records. If not listed contact the registry office to determine next steps.
Application for registration
Step 1: Pay fee for application
Application fees
Send payment to IDHSC by etransfer: treasurer.idhsc@gmail.com or contact registration office to arrange to pay through PayPal.
Step 2: Complete application form
Application requires uploading photos of the horse. Photos are for identification purposes.
Ensure all photos:

Show the entire horse in the frame.

Photo exposure shows the true colour of the horse.

Front photo shows any markings including entire face marking and all 4 leg markings (provide additional photos if needed).

Back photo shows all 4 legs to show back of leg markings (if present).

Left side include all 4 legs visible.

Right side includes all 4 legs visible.

After application submitted

The registration office will assign a file number, registration number, and UELN number for your horse.

DNA sample form, tissue extraction form, and ID certifcate (marking chart) will be populated with yours and your horse's details.

Forms and instructions will be emailed to you to complete.

You mail all completed forms back to the registration office.

Registration office then sends the DNA to the lab for parentage verification.

Once verification is confirmed the passport will be issued for the horse and mailed to you.
